Switch Energy Club - Jayhawk Chapter

About

About Us

Switch Energy Club is a student organization at The University of Kansas dedicated to holistically and objectively educating motivated students of all majors about the energy industry through meetings, activities, outreach events, and projects. We offer students the opportunity to learn about the policy, engineering, and business sides behind various types of energy, such as biofuels, upstream and downstream oil and gas, solar, carbon capture technology, and many more.

As the world undergoes the next energy transition, alternative fuels and renewables will occupy an increasing proportion of the energy mix, but fossil-fuels will still serve as the dominant energy source for several more decades. We must understand the significance behind both the energy of today and the energy of tomorrow in order to one day make the Switch.

Backed by the Switch Energy Alliance, a 501(c)(3) non-profit founded by Dr. Scott Tinker, the Director of the Bureau of Economic Geology at UT Austin, the organization aims to connect students across campus with professionals across the industry. This club is open to KU students of all majors.
