KU Sports Law Society
About
The purpose of this society shall be to provide educational and networking opportunities to students interested in the area of sports law. To do this, the SLS will: attend and participate in educational and informative events in order to share the different ways to work with sports through a legal degree, organize networking functions to help members meet with attorneys and other professionals practicing or working in different areas of sports law, inform members of relevant current events, promote the interaction between membership and other organizations within the Law School, University, and Legal community.
In the past, we have networked with attorneys that represent sports teams and players in Kansas City. For an examples, we attended a Sporting KC game and was given a tour and detailed brief from the in-house counsel.
This organization is primarily for Law Students. Information on the meetings will be pushed out through the Law School administration.
At the first meeting, contact information will be collected in order to push out further information. A 1L representative will be selected to distribute information to the 1L class on behalf of SLS. Information on events and meetings will be pushed out via the contact email provided and through the Law School Class GroupMe chats.
