About

The purpose of the KU Beekeeping Club is to educate students, the surrounding community, and all other interested parties in the amazing practice of beekeeping. We aim to provide a hands-on experience for people to learn about what it takes to become beekeepers, demonstrate how environmental conditions affect bees, and inspire future generations to take part in a centuries-old tradition.

 

We provide members with an array of opportunities that will: empower future generations of beekeepers and hobbyists to educate the public about beekeeping, expand the horizons of students interested in what beekeeping is like and offering a hands-on opportunity to participate in it, and provide resources and opportunities to learn about best practices and tips for beekeeping with a community of like-minded students.

 

The club meets on Sundays mornings to conduct hive checks at the KU Native Medicinal Plant Gardens located at 1865 E 1600 Rd, Lawrence, KS 66044. Prospective members can use the following link to be added to our GroupMe:
